Topic 1 – Social determinants in health

Task 1: Plan and gather information

Address each of the following criteria for the first topic. Each answer should be approximately 100 words. Ensure at least one of the information sources should be one you have found and is in addition to the list provided.

  1. a) Introduce the topic you have chosen and identify how researching the literature in this area may support and improve your work practices.

Answer

As per the Australian Health Act 2016, The social determinants of health are the type of non-medical factors that influence the outcomes of the health. This is a type of condition in which people are born, live, grow, etc. Many systems and forces format the conditions of daily life such as development agendas, economic systems and policies, social policies, systems related to political background, and social norms. 8.1

Health outcomes are influenced by social determinants, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). A system or force that shapes the conditions of normal life, such as aging, living, working, growing, and being born. There are many systems and forces involved in politics, community policy, development agendas, and economic policies. Health determinants encompass a variety of factors including digital, commercial, biomedical, cultural, economic, structural, and environmental issues that affect our lives daily. A vital concept in public health has quickly emerged: social determinants, which are supporting the development of innovative models and theoretical frameworks.

  1. b) Provide a clear statement defining the research objectives of your literature

Answer

Two statements define the objective of the selected literature review such as:

1) The topic is selected to identify or determine the conditions in which the peoples or individuals are live, born, and work (Duckett & Willcox, 2015)

2) The research was also conducted to identify how people deal with the conditions. 8.2

Two statements define the objective of the selected literature review such as:

1) Identifying and determining certain conditions & situations where populations of particular states age, work, grow, & are born is also one of the purposes of the research.

2) The research also was mainly conducted to identify how different living conditions are handled by the population in their everyday life.

  1. c) Describe the methods you used to systematically gather information for your literature review and provide a rationale for why these were

Answer

There are some methods that I used to gather the information such as Primary method for gathering information:

1) Observation – I have used the observation method to collect real or actual information about the determinants of health. This method is best because the researcher gets more and more information related to the topic of the research.

2) Questionnaires – I have conducted the meeting or people survey and asked the question related to their health, level of education or education access, Stability of the society in terms of economic background, the health facility that they get from their surroundings, etc. With the help of questionnaires, I have got much accurate information regarding the social determinant of health (Duckett & Willcox, 2015).

Secondary method:

3) Magazines- This is the secondary method for gathering literature information, like it gathers arts, set of poetry and the thoughts of the poets are gather in the magazines.

4) Newspaper articles- The newspaper article is also the secondary method for gathering the literature information it helps in academic search also.

Some of the methods which can be used to systematically collect the information for the literature review are-

1) Surveys: Literature reviews also consider this method when gathering relevant information. In this method, questionnaires are used to collect information about social determinants of health, usually based on the experiences of individuals and groups. It is helpful to use these to figure out whether an individual’s experiences & views are representative. As well as providing hard data, such surveys can provide information about how people behave and what they think, which can be used to make informed decisions.

2) Literature source: In this case, data is gathered from texts that have already been published in the public domain. Publications such as magazines, newspapers, articles, and reports of public or private organizations fall under this category. Using these sources of literature allows researchers to gain an overview of social determinants of health and identify relevant gaps, methodologies, and theories.

3) Observation –this method is used to collect real or actual information about the determinants of health. This method is best because the researcher gets more and more information related to the topic of the research.

  1. d) Describe at least three credible sources of data and information you accessed for your literature review- of which one is a resource you have

Answer

There are credible sources of information and data that I used for writing the literature review such as:

9.2
  • Education
  • Income and social protection
  • Early childhood development
  • Health Equity monitor
  • The Global health observatory

Some of the credible sources of the data and information which can be used for writing the literature review are-

1) Health local data:

This specific source provides suitable information related to the health sector. This sector provides information about the situation from which many individuals might be suffering.  By understanding the problems of determinants of health through different conventions and norms, the local health department can be more efficient.

2) Susceptibility to the system of healthcare:

Using credible information sources, a researcher can mainly gather information about functional disorders such as hearing, free-living, mobility, self-care, vision, & cognitive. Researchers can use this information specifically to get a better idea of how health differs between individuals who have illnesses and those who do not.

3) Enduring illness indicators:

The information or data obtained from this particular source is relevant to the geographic region where the illness is prevailing. It is a situation that involves hazards and predominating factors.

  1. d) Explain how you determined whether the information you gathered was relevant to your chosen topic and research objectives.

Answer

11.1

If gather information, make sense of the chosen topic which is relevant to my topic and the individual outcome is needed of everyone.

For comparing the information and data healthcare system will be monitored. It will also help to determine that the information collected was suitable to the chosen research objectives and topics. It must be also ensured that the source is credible and it is verifiable as well.

  1. e) Describe how you organised the data and information you gathered in a way that helped you to use it in your literature

Answer

11.2

To organize and maintain the record of data, I will record all the gathered information in the form of a table with the help of a computer or any digital source. In this way, I will easily identify the information that I need to include in the literature review. I also easily identify the adult information and children’s information related to health determinants (Willis, et al., 2016).

With the use of online and computer sources, the information that is obtained will be tracked and documented in the excel spreadsheet to accurately preserve & consolidate the record-keeping of pertinent data and information. It will be simple to identify the facts and material that must be supplied to the literature review in this specific way. The information of adults and teenagers regarding health determinants will then be identified.

  1. f) Describe how you prioritised which sources of data and information to discuss in your literature
12.1

Answer

Peer reviewed journal articles are prioritized for source of data and information to discuss in literature review.

Data and information will be carefully organized in the form of a table, with ratings and markings provided, to prioritize the data and information. The data will then be placed in the specific literature review topic following the ratings and markings. For instance, the data and information about the continuous illness will receive a higher rating, while the data and information about the vulnerability to the healthcare system will receive a lower rating.

Task 2: Analyse and present findings

Use the following headings to write a literature review that analyses three or more credible sources of information, and assesses how the findings might be applied in your professional context. Each answer should be approximately 100 words. In your literature review you must address each of the criteria.

  1. a) Identify at least two current trends in this topic area and evaluate their relevance to your area of professional practice.

Answer

There are two current trends such as

13.1
  • Chronic conditions – The conditions related to chronic diseases are rapidly spreading which is created as a current trend in the health determinants. It will encourage the health care department to work together with the software developers to help the people by protecting them from the disease. (Taleb, & Mohamed 2020) The health care department also provides information related to the diet that people must follow to protect themselves from chronic conditions. With the help of SDOH software, the health care department can help people anytime whether they ride a bike, run, swim, etc.
  1. Digital health vendors – The SDOH help the patient by joining them with medical care partners that help the peoples by (Taleb, & Mohamed 2020) providing the best quality medicine at affordable prices.

Some of the current trends in this area and its relevance to professional practice area are-

1) Artificial intelligence implications:

The revolution brought on mostly by artificial intelligence technologies suggests a connection to healthcare. There is no doubt that artificial intelligence will rule the next developments in the healthcare industry because it has improved diagnostic accuracy through automated support in medical operations, numerical imaging, workforce, etc.
2) Cloud computing:

Healthcare cloud computing lowers operational and capital costs by providing on-demand storage of medical data. Decreasing various costs, increases the company’s effectiveness. The key benefits of cloud computing include making it very simple to share medical records, automating backend tasks, and also to maintain and developing telehealth apps.

  1. b) Compare and contrast the different sources of literature that you have accessed and comment on their merits in terms of their:
  2. Strength (the robustness of the studies)
  3. Relevance to your professional context
  • (statistical) reliability
  1. The timeliness of the information

Answer

Strength – With the help of SDOH, the person can compare the local health data and chronic disease indicators. The local health information and chronic disease indicators allow us to identify the area which needs improvement to provide the best life to the people (Mintzberg, 2012).

With the social determinants assistance of health, local data could be associated with the individuals on the health & enduring illness indicators. Local information on indicators and health of the enduring illness provides the access to identify the specific area which is needed to provide more quality life to the population or children.

Relevance to your professional context – All the literature sources is treated as good until they provide practical and accurate information. During the research process, the sources help the research by more and more relevant data related to the research topic.

The entire literature source is treated well till they provide particle and suitable data. In the research process, sources of literature assist as it provides accurate and relevant data on the research topic. 14.1

(statistical) Reliability – Local health data is relevant until it provides accurate information related to the conditions suffered by the people. But the local health data does not provide the relevant information regarding the patient that currently suffering from chronic diseases.

Local health data is accurate as long as it provides important facts & data regarding a population’s health-related sufferings. The local health data, however, does not provide precise facts and statistics relating to the person who is now suffering from a significant and enduring sickness.

  1. c) Assess and discuss the feasibility of incorporating the findings of the research into your professional context, and any benefits or risk associated with this.

Answer

Technical feasibility – This source provides information related to technology that local health care centers need to provide the best health care services to people who suffer from chronic diseases.

This particular source provides details on technical advancements in the healthcare industry that local health departments must know about in order to provide patients with serious illnesses with improved services and facilities.

14.2

Legal feasibility – This type of source provides information related to the legal obligation that local health care departments need to fulfil to set up their health department properly (Mintzberg, 2012).

This type of source provides information & data regarding legal obligations that local departments & sectors of health care must fulfill in order to set up the departments & sectors efficiently and provide the people with better facilities and services.

  1. d) Identify areas of the research that warrant further investigation, either because of the limited scope of the research you have undertaken, or the limitations of the studies

Answer

The crucial area that needs to be investigated on time is the determinants of weakness in the children. Therefore, the researcher identifies the real reason for weakness in young children.

14.3

Another crucial area that needs to be investigated is the spreading of the infected diseases in the people (Cutler, et al., 2012).

15.1

The research area is different in types Inductive approach, deductive approach, Adductive approach is the identified area of the research.

In children, determinants of weakness are important was further investigation can be done to understand the true causes. Therefore, more research should be done to carry out this study and learn the main reasons why young children are weak and how to address each of these reasons.

There is also one more area in which further investigation must be done. Its area is related to the problem of infectious diseases within individuals. Because of the limited time in the research this area was not investigated.

  1. e) Provide a summary of your findings and conclusions based on the literature that you have

Answer

According to the research information, there are many reasons for weakness in the children as well as adults such as poor health facilities, lack of education, lack of health quality services, etc.

A helpful mechanism needs to implement1t5h.2at help the peoples by protecting them from the diseases such as chronic. People need to be educated in the matter of health services.

It has been concluded that on the achievements of the students the involvement of the parents is having a positive impact. There are various ways where parents can participate and contribute to the education of their children. regular communication with the teacher of the child, at home they can help in finishing their homework. The involvement of parents has positive achievement in the non-academic and academic areas of children. Their involvement also provides them with motivation and self-esteem.

  1. f) Outline ways in which the information may be used, and recommend two actions based on your research findings and These may be in relation to further research, or implementing the findings of the research, or both.

Answer

Information can be used by some local people. it will help them to learn new methods which can help them to enhance their knowledge and health and they can also have protected themselves from various diseases.

Some of the actions which are recommended are-

Automated technology must be implemented to recover peoples who already suffering from chronic diseases in poor or geographical areas (Cutler, et al., 2012).

Education can also be provided related to the health care services to the individuals. In this way, they decide whether the local health department provides good services or not. It will also help to know from specific diseases how can be recovered.

15.3

The Patient billing and scheduling automated technology it is helpful to enhance and improve billing and revenue. This technology is helpful in manage patient intake, and also helping in the patients caring.

Health benefits in social and nursing are: 1) Job growth increased

  • brand positive impact
  • Complete varied responsibility.’
  1. Outline how you will use the information and learnings from your research to make

changes in your current work practices

Answer

To change in current work practices:

1) Imitate on present practices

2) Explain with others skills

Topic 2

Task 1: Plan and gather information

Address each of the following criteria for the first topic. Each answer should be approximately 100 words. Ensure at least one of the information sources should be one you have found and is in addition to the list provided.

  1. a) Introduce the topic you have chosen and identify how researching the literature in this area may support and improve your work practices.

Answer

The patient-centred care means some health care facilities which should be done for the patients should be focusing on the patient and this means there should be respect for the patient. The

communication and information should support the patients and the social values of the patient which should be respected and empathy and emotional support should be shown so that patient can feel comfortable. The literature research will help to understand the patient’s common needs and their comfort zone which should be get from the literary sources that are already present to study (Fazio, et al., 2018).

  1. b) Provide a clear statement defining the research objectives of your literature

Answer

Most contemporary thinkers think that health care is just a combination of science and technology which is performed by the professionals and the nursing staff. The research objective is to change this thinking of the contemporary time of the nursing staff so that they did not treat the patient as a customer and this research helps in the building good relationship with the patient. And why these relations are important for the nursing staff which will result in the transparency and emotional support to the patient which is necessary for the patient for the better treatment and recovery of health (Fazio, et al., 2018).

  1. c) Describe the methods you used to systematically gather information for your literature review and provide a rationale for why these were

Answer

Primary method for gathering information:

Observation – I have used the observation method to collect real or actual information about the determinants of health. This method is best because the researcher gets more and more information related to the topic of the research.

Questionnaires – I have conducted the meeting or people survey and asked the question related to their health, level of education or education access, Stability of the society in terms of economic background, the health facility that they get from their surroundings, etc. With the help of questionnaires, I have got much accurate information regarding the social determinant of health (Duckett & Willcox, 2015).

Secondary method:

Magazines- This is the secondary method for gathering literature information, like it gathers arts, set of poetry and the thoughts of the poets are gather in the magazines.

Newspaper articles- The newspaper article is also the secondary method for gathering the literature information it helps in academic search also.

Then synthesis of the data which can be helpful in the research and finally analyses of the data which helps to conclude the research and this helps in the suggesting better ways to improve.

You need to describe a systematic method used to gather information such as searching relevant library databases, Google Scholar or Clinical Key using appropriate search terms, and must explain why the methods/terms they chose were appropriate, e.g. source of credible/reputable information, relevance to their disciplinary context, relevance to their topic area.

  1. d) Explain how you determined whether the information you gathered was relevant to your chosen topic and research objectives.

Answer

The information which will be gathered from the resources and the by the methods should be relevant to the research it can be determined by the process of selection by the method of analysing the methods properly like what is in the data. The data should consist of the services of the nursing staff and the behavior of nursing staff and the various research that is done on the topic of health care facilities and the service behavior of the nursing staff during the treatment of the patients. These data analyses are some criteria which that the literature review in a positive direction.

IF the gather information is sensible then it is relevant to the topic, firstly identify that what opinion is want and for what topic you define.

  1. e) Describe how you organised the data and information you gathered in a way that helped you to use it in your literature

Answer

The data and the information which is gathered for the research should be properly organised so that the research can be fluent and effective. The data will be organised in the chronological

order which means the literature data of the existing literature should be according to publishing dates and other data should be in the order that firstly there will be problems related to the patient care, then what are causes of the problem and then the solution in which can be done for the achieving the better patient-centred care.

  1. f) Describe how you prioritised which sources of data and information to discuss in your literature

Answer

The priority will be given to the sources of data based on how the information of the source is effective. This means the literature reviews which are already existing on the patient centred care are given first priority so that there will be proper idea what ca be modified in the review, then after there will be the data collection by the surveys from the patients which helps in the finding the problems and the administrative tools and some reports related to the emotional and social support to the patient by leading with example.

The content of the literature, evidence and the secondly is own critical estimation and conversation of the main content are reviewed.

Answer

The two current trends that are going on in the patient centred care are communication strategies for the nurses so that nurses can support with the better communication facility in understanding the patient problem and show them some emotional support for the patient. And another is community-based care which helps in the determinants of health in the social ways of the patient which makes patients feel comfortable and these practices are going on in this area so that nursing staff and doctors can help patients more accurately and effectively (Delaney, 2018).

  1. b) Compare and contrast the different sources of literature that you have accessed and comment on their merits in terms of their:
    1. strength (the robustness of the studies)
    2. relevance to your professional context
  • (statistical) reliability
  1. currency of the

Answer

The administrative data robust the research studies by providing uniform and improved coding systems of the treatment of the patients which is very relevance to the context of nursing behavior towards patient. The patient medical record provides the relevant data which help in the finding the data analyses in the form of statically reliability. And the patient Surveys provide the information about the behavior and how much they satisfy and dissatisfy with the service of nursing and the data will be obtained accurately in the form of statically relevance (Delaney, 2018).

The different source of literature is:

1) Archaeological

2) Literary

Your answers should compare and contrast the different sources of literature that you have accessed and comment on the merits of the research. For example:

(Yu-fang, et al., 2017) study is a robust cross sectional design study with a high number of participants and a range of statistical analyses including linear regression, correlation and factor analysis. In contrast, the Open University (2019) paper was structured as a review and practice guide and did not include its own experimental research. Both studies, however, are recent and have direct applicability to the professional context of nursing.’

  1. c) Assess and discuss the feasibility of incorporating the findings of the research into your professional context, and any benefits or risk associated with this.

Answer

The research work should be ethical so that the research should be proper and will be maintained its ethics prospective behavior. The research needs to be social preview according to the society which does not hurt the feelings of the common people and the incorporation of the finding from information should be genuine and also real so that it can be applied in real terms. The risk associated with this is there can be time taken by the nursing staff to implement these research ideas. And benefit will be from the research is to build the relationship between the nursing staff and patients (Berghout, et al., 2015).

  1. d) Identify areas of the research that warrant further investigation, either because of the limited scope of the research you have undertaken, or the limitations of the studies

Answer

The different studies suggest different ideas for the further studies and the knowledge so the literature from the past should be investigated so that you get a validation on the facts that are used in those resources. The area of investigation will be the statically data which needs to be accurate so that there will be proof of trends that are done in nursing areas.

And the most important investigation is from the administrative data of hospitals because sometimes they provide inefficient data which will be confirmed by the patient by surveying them properly (Catalyst, et al., 2017).

The information is gathered in literature sources, Interviews and in the magazines of the literature.

The risk environmental are:

1) Climate change

2) Lacks in health care

3) Poor quality of water

Your answer should comment on the applicability of the findings into practice environments and any benefits or risks associated with this. For example:

‘A range of factors identified by Yu-fang et al could be incorporated into nursing practice to support resilience and reduce the incidence of burnout. These factors include… Similarly, the Open University paper provides an emotional resilience toolkit with a range of activities that could be incorporated into individual or team professional development initiatives.’

  1. e) Provide a summary of your findings and conclusions based on the literature that you have
