The rules of evidence

(Source: Standards for RTOs 2015, Clauses 1.8 – 1.12)

When collecting evidence, there are certain rules that apply to that evidence. All evidence must be valid, sufficient, authentic and current:

  • Valid

Evidence gathered should meet the requirements of the unit of competency. This evidence should match, or at least reflect, the type of performance that is to be assessed, whether it covers knowledge, skills or attitudes.

  • Sufficient

This rule relates to the amount of evidence gathered. It is imperative that enough evidence is gathered to satisfy the requirements that the learner is competent in all aspects of the unit of competency.

  • Authentic

When evidence is gathered the assessor must be satisfied that evidence is the learner’s own work.

  • Current

This relates to the currency of the evidence and whether the evidence relates to current abilities.

Meeting roleplay

Operational manager: good morning team members.

Team members: very good morning to you too

Operational manager: the purpose of today’s meeting is on how to build or enhance team effectiveness. And talking about the team action plan and difficulties which are we facing in it.

Team members: yes, as we also have observed that it became a serious issue that lack of compatibility between staff leads to an unwanted clash

Operational manager: yes, and to avoid that and to give a better experience to clients and staff it became important for everyone to corporate and do their best and overcome this situation. To do so we all have to act according to the made action plan.

Team members: yes but there are staff members who are still fighting with the client as there are no arrangements for that.

Operational manager: for such a scene staff must contact the nearby senior member rather than doing an argument with the clients

Team members: that seems much better

Operational manager: all right that’s all thank you all for attending the meeting and for your valuable reviews on the topic.

Team members: you’re welcome.

Agenda Item 1 Team Performance Plan
Discussion Communication skills with staff and client
It has been observed that the low level of communication skills in the staff members leads to unwanted clashes between staff and also with the clients and that is putting a negative impact on the client and makes the business low which is not a good indication for a business and the team performance plan is about to solve such issues which have arrived and to make sure that there is a team which has a better understanding in between.
Agenda Item 2 Advice on Addressing Difficulties
Discussion  Clashes with clients and staff
The biggest difficulty that has been observed till now is not wanting to compromise and which results in bad customer feedback for such scenes when occur staff must consult with the available senior rather than arguing with the client as it is bad for both client and for the brand value of firm  (Gervits, et al., 2016).

Team Members – Good Morning sir.

Operational Manager – As we all know that we implemented many activities in the organization to build team effectiveness, and I am glad that all the employees participated very well in it.

Team members – Thank you, sir.

But we identified that personal trainers 1 and 2 need some improvement and diet planners and nutritionists also need to focus more on increasing their efficiency in an average they are potentially really good employees but need to focus on developing communication skills and need to develop a good behavioral aspect so that can build an effective relationship between the employees.

Operational Manager – I would really appreciate the fact when all the employees participate effectively in it as it is really important because it helps to build the importance of  group dynamics.

Team member – Yes sir we will take care of it next time and will try to perform more effectively next time.
