Task summary and instructions

 

What is this assessment task about? This assessment is a written questionnaire with a mix of objective and subjective questions.

 

The questionnaire is designed to meet the knowledge required to meet the unit requirements safely and effectively.

 

The questions focus on the knowledge evidence required for this unit of competency:

 

·         quality management theory

·         relevant project quality standards that apply in the organisation

·         quality assurance and control techniques, key tools and methodologies

·         roles and responsibilities of quality management personnel

·         methods for managing continuous improvement.

 

Your assessor will be looking for demonstrated evidence of your ability to answer the questions satisfactorily, follow instructions, conduct online research and review real or simulated business documentation as instructed.

Explain the following quality management theories, principles, tools and techniques used in quality management and continuous improvements in organisations.

Total Quality Management It is the framework of management. On the various beliefs, TQM framework is based which can be built by the organisation for the organisation long-term success by having all the members (Pambreni, et al., 2019).

 

ISO: 9001:2008 Standards and why an organisation may choose to adopt these standards For the quality management system ISO: 9001:2008 Standards clarify the needs where a business needs to demonstrate its abilities. To improve the satisfaction of the customers this standard is used by the organization.

 

Quality Assurance It is a systematic process. The quality assurance process that helps in determine the services and product must meet its requirements.

 

Quality Control It is the procedure which is used to make that the product or services performed or manufactures should adhere the defined criteria of quality.

 

Six Sigma methodology and its relationship to quality assurance.

 

It is the methodology for quality management. It is the used to enhance the product and services by eliminating and discovering defects.
DMAIC cycle and its use in continuous improvement. It is the cycle that can be used for developing the quality results of the organization. In continuous improvement, it is used for improved processes.

 

PDCA cycle and its use in continuous improvement. Planning, checking, acting or doing it is a continuous loop. For testing development measures this model is used.

 

Benchmarking as a quality management tool. For the continuous improvement in the quality of services and product benchmarking is used.

 

Brainstorming as a continuous improvement tool. It is a good way to think of various possibilities and ideas.
Cause and effect diagram. It is a visual tool. To identify the specific issues this tool is organized logically.

 

5 Whys Identifying the problem’s root cause is the team’s exercise.

 

Cost-benefit analysis when used for quality assurance. Where there is a need to measure the decision benefits (Camilleri, 2022).
Organisational Quality Management Policy In this document organizations quality objectives of origination are mentioned.

 

Check Sheet To gather data in a short time this sheet is used at the same place where data is generated.

 

Pareto Diagram These diagrams are used to recognize the areas in which there is a need to provide its focus on priority.

 

Statistical Sampling It is the set observations drawings which is collected randomly from a population distribution.

 

User testing By the real user’s website function are tested. These user’s performance the certain task in a realistic condition.

 

Control Chart It is a kind of graph which show the changes of the process over time.

 

Project Management Plan within the project plan. It is the approved document. It is prepared in a formal language.
