Making Connections

Making Connections – Bonus Practice Activity – Using transitions and making connections among points for clarity.

It is important to show connections between ideas and details. While it is often clear to the writer, the link between two points may not be clear to the reader. It is up to the writer to make the connections absolutely clear. This can be accomplished by using transitions or by writing the “missing link” so the reader can understand your point. The missing link can be a phrase, clause, or sentence.

e.g.: Many parents are working outside the home. Consequently, take-out and convenience foods are popular.

The sentence above implies a connection between working parents and the popularity of take-out or convenience foods; however, it is not clearly stated.

Delaying work and giving reasons to do it later is termed as procrastination(Postponing something despite knowing It’s negative consequences). once in a while it looks good and one should can delay his work but making habit of it can ruin many things.  And it has been observed many times that if we delay our work later it became more difficult to do because we lose our pace which we had during earlier time which lead us to our second point much is one must not delay his work unless and until there is a  genuine reason for it. doing work on time gives a feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment which boosts the overall performance. Procrastination is a Latin word in which pro refers forward and crastinus meaning tomorrow.
