Task summary and instructions

 

What is this assessment task about? This assessment is a written questionnaire with a mix of objective and subjective questions.

 

The questionnaire is designed to meet the knowledge required to meet the unit requirements safely and effectively.

 

The questions focus on the knowledge evidence required for this unit of competency:

 

·         systems and processes facilitating continuous improvement

·         common decision-making processes

·         organisational policies and procedures relating to digital systems, decision-making processes and continuous improvement systems

·         business systems and requirements, including:

o   knowledge management

o   quality

o   sustainability

o   performance management.

 

Your assessor will be looking for demonstrated evidence of your ability to answer the questions satisfactorily, follow instructions, conduct online research and review real or simulated business documentation as instructed.

Systems and processes facilitating continuous improvement Outline
Six Sigma It is the method that gives tools to organizations for improving the ability of their processes of business.
PDCA – The Deming Cycle It is the model of continuous improvement which mainly comprises the rational sequence mainly of four stages that includes: Plan, Do, Study and Act.
Kaizen It is the philosophy of business that concerns the procedures that constantly enhance operations and also involve entire employees (Owen, 2013).

 

 

Question 2

 

Outline a process of choice for decision-making.

The process is mentioned below:

1. Accurate decision will be identified first

2. Appropriate information will be gathered

3. Appropriate substitutes will be identified

4. After that, suggestions and recommendations of seniors will be considered

5. Among entire substitutes, an effective one will be selected

6. Then, in the end, actions will be implanted and informed decisions will be taken (Owen, 2013).

Surveys It is necessary to gather feedback from consumers, but the feedback of employees should also be considered. By implementing a survey of employees, the organization can recognize the problems and also recognize areas in which improvement is needed.
Inspection of time Being able to measure appropriately how much time a particular process takes can provide insights into where the process can be effectively optimized (Aguinis, 2019).

Explain how continuous improvement systems and processes relate to other business systems and requirements. Consider knowledge management, quality, performance management and sustainability.

Knowledge management It is the procedure by which the organization collects, classifies shares and evaluates its acquaintance in a significant way that is very easily reachable to employees.
Quality It means that services and products of the business exceed and meet entire specifications, standards and requirements.
Performance management It is the continuous procedure of communication between the employees and employer that happens throughout the whole year, in assistance of achieving the strategic goals of the company.
Sustainability It means meeting the requirements without mainly compromising the capability of upcoming generations for meeting their needs (Aguinis, 2019).
