Task summary and instructions


What is this assessment task about? This assessment is a written questionnaire with a mix of objective and subjective questions.


The questionnaire is designed to meet the knowledge required to meet the unit requirements safely and effectively.


The questions focus on the knowledge evidence required for this unit of competency:


·         models of critical and creative thinking

·         features of critical thinking concepts and approaches including analysis, synthesis, and evaluation

·         existing workplace objectives, processes and resources

·         characteristics of organisational learning environments and related learning systems

·         legislative requirements relating to workplace procedures

·         sources of reliable information relevant to workplace procedures

·         features of industry best practice approach to instruction on critical and creative thinking methods

·         leading a team and individuals to develop critical and creative thinking skills.


Your assessor will be looking for demonstrated evidence of your ability to answer the questions satisfactorily, follow instructions, conduct online research and review real or simulated business documentation as instructed.

What do I need to do to complete this task satisfactorily? ·         submit your answers to the questions within the set timeframe,

·         answer all questions as instructed,

·         answer all questions using your own words and reference any sources appropriately,

·         all questions must be answered satisfactorily.

Model Outline
Inference It is defined as the inference aspect of critical thinking. It includes imaginar hypothesis of the thinking that is derived from the output of critical thinking.
Analysis Analysis procedure plays a vital role to develop critical thinking in every aspect. An appropriate analysis of every situation must be done in a critical way (McPeck, 2016).



Question 2


Briefly describe two (2) features of five (5) critical thinking concepts and approaches. The concepts and approaches must include analysis, synthesis and evaluation.

Concept and approach Features
Explanation There must be detailed explanation about a particular task.

It is beneficial to direct directions effectively and efficiently.

Problem solving It is defined as the capability to resolve different issues and queries at workplace.

It is beneficial to improve communication at the workplace effectively and efficiently (McPeck, 2016).

Intrepretation It is a suitable method to explain different aspects of a particular method.

It is a proper framework to complete activities systematically.

Open culture Workplace culture plays main role. It must be open so that everyone can get chance to convey.

It is helpful to adopt candidates from different culture and background.

Inference It is defined as the act as well as procedure to reach a conclusion that is related to the different facts and aspects.

It is explained as the opinion that has been concluded from different aspects.

  • What type of workplace processes would be helpful when using critical thinking in a work environment? Provide two (2) examples.

Workplace objectives play main role to develop critical thinking such as Identifying innovative ideas and suggestions as well as tracking performance time to time.

The employees who are working at the workplace where they are following critical thinking are competent, reflective and independent.

It explains different innovative ideas and determine errors and mistakes that need to be removed for the development and enhancement of the workplace.

There are two examples of workplace resources that could be utilized to support critical thinking in the workplace such as

Make investment in training and development

  • What makes an effective learning environment?
  • What type of learning systems can be used in an organisational learning environment?

Organisational learning environment is a platform that defines opportunities and ways to learn from different aspects. It is a procedure to gain knowledge and utilization of acquired knowledge in the changing environment. It is helpful to increase efficiency and effectiveness in the workplace environment.

Strong communication and collaboration are helpful to make an effective learning environment. Trainung program must be conducted to make an effective learning environment.

List and briefly describe four (4) legislative requirements that relate to typical workplace procedures.

Legislative requirement Brief description
Code of conduct It defines entire policies and procedure of the organization including standards, codes and practices of the organization.
Induction as well as recruitment policies It defines roles and responsibilities of a particular employee in the organization. It defines important terms and practices that must be considered with single employee.
Discrimination act It defines as fairness at the workplaces. All employee must be treated well and equally at the workplace so that no one could feel eliminated.
Workplace health and safety act It defines safety standards as well as health standards at the workplace. Safety measures must be followed to make an effective and efficient workplace.

Best practice Outline
Open communication It is the most important method or practice that should be followed to communicate well in the organization. Every employee must feel free to ask about queries and provide suggestions (Enciso, et al., 2017).
Training program Training program plays a main role to train each and every employee of the organization. Training program must be conducted to run a business successfully.

How can you effectively lead a team of individuals to develop critical and creative thinking?

A team could be lead effectively by making a good understanding with team members. Innovative techniques and strtaegies must be followed to develop creative and critical thinking. Brainstorimng session must be conducted to train different employees effectively and efficiently (Enciso, et al., 2017).
