Section 2: Engage in workplace communication and negotiation |
Prepare to communicate complex information and negotiate outcomes.
What information (related to your selected workplace project or issue) must be conveyed and negotiated? With whom will the information be conveyed and negotiated (at least two different audiences on separate occasions)? |
The data pertain to concerns that commonly arise in the workplace. There is evidence of a variety of workplace confrontations. It appears to have become a workplace culture. After additional investigation, it was shown that the majority of conflicts are caused by misinformation and misunderstanding. Fortunately, the disagreement did not escalate, and it can now be resolved. However, if disputes occur frequently, it gets tiresome.
· As a result of the scenario, I propose a preventative strategy that involves repairing the communications flows of information authenticating. · This is something I’ll discuss with the operations manager. |
First occasion: | ||
Describe the audience
Are you aware of any communication challenges? Are you aware of any differing perspectives? |
The following are some examples of communication issues and divergent viewpoints:
Yes Yes Arguments concerning the circumstance in which the situation is denied Insist on proper communication being used. Unawareness of the circumstance. |
|
Plan outcomes
What are the potential outcomes of the negotiation (at least two)? What are your desired outcomes (at least one)? |
The following are possible outcomes of the negotiations:
· Due to a lack of sufficient complaints, some further review is pending. · New modifications must be approved before they may be implemented. · The following are the primary considerations: · New adjustments have my full support because they are deemed an enhancement to the transmission medium (Catalán-Matamoros, & Peñafiel-Saiz, 2019). |
|
Plan approach
How will you communicate? · What method will you use? · What communication style will you adopt? · Why is this style suitable? What communication challenges/risks do you anticipate (at least two)? How will you remove any barriers that may influence understanding? Which negotiation techniques will you follow to positively influence others? |
· As the issue occurs in all departments, I will have a meeting with the general manager and invite various managers to participate in the process.
· I’ll use an authoritative communication approach because it involves involvement from all of the agency’s supervisors. · It is ideal since it encourages teamwork in the search for an appropriate solution to the problem. · Denial of the issue is one of the communication barriers that I expected. Some believe it never transpired that everything turned out well. · I’ll break down boundaries by recounting an incident in which I was personally involved and witnessed from beginning to conclusion. · In my negotiations, I will become very cooperative since I feel my strategy is for the betterment of the organization and the prevention of a recurrence of the problem. |

Attach proof of your succinct, clear and persuasive explanation and negotiation (e.g. conference call recording, video of meeting etc.) to this section of the portfolio (unless viewed in person by your assessor). |
||
Confirm negotiation outcomes

After the general manager has listened to the material offered during the topics that were discussed, I will validate the important conclusion.
After the operations manager has evaluated the issue, I will validate the major conclusions of the plan discussion. |

Section 3: Review communication |
Obtain feedback on communication and negotiation
Use digital technology (e.g. online survey, email) to obtain feedback from at least two sources (e.g. from mentoring session, or negotiations). As you seek feedback, consider your communication/negotiation as well as the broader organisation’s communication systems, channels and processes. Summarise the feedback. Attach proof of the feedback to this section of your portfolio. |
Survey will be conducted through email. Please select one
The feedback is showing positive result but there are many agrees on improving the communication policies and procedures |
|
Identify opportunity for improvement
What areas of your communication and negotiation need improvement? How effective were the communication channels, systems and processes? What areas of the team or organisational practices need improvement? |
· The consultation part of the communication rules and processes might be improved. It suggests that employees should seek advice from higher-ups if they have any worries or challenges. It isn’t covered by the processes and regulations.
· Although the present communication channels, systems, and procedures are functional, personal coaching for workers is insufficient. · Support in collaboration, which allows workers to communicate their issues, is an area of organisational practises that has to be improved (Dickens, & Chavez, 2018). |
|
Document and implement improvement requirements
Follow organisational requirements to document areas needing improvement. Implement any improvements to organisational practices (e.g. amended policies/procedures/protocols) Attach proof to this section of your portfolio |
· The results of the improvements are displayed below. | |
