TYPES OF EVIDENCE

The RTO ensures that assessment is carried out in accordance with the requirements of the unit and the standards and will implement an assessment process which identifies the evidence required for each unit of competency. They will identify the type of evidence and the assessment methods used.

Types of evidence include:

  • Direct Evidence – things that the assessor, observes first-hand, e.g., observation or work samples
  • Indirect Evidence – things that someone else has observed and reported to us, e.g., third party reports
  • Supplementary Evidence – other things that can indicate performance, such as training records, questions, written work, portfolios

Assessment methods may include but are not limited to:

  • Written Activity
  • Case Study
  • Observation/Demonstration
  • Practical Activity
  • Questions
  • Third Party Report

Assessment must comply with the assessment methods of the training package and be conducted in accordance with the Principles of Assessment and assessment conditions. This means the assessment must be fair, flexible, reliable and valid.ASSESSMENT INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS

Throughout your training we are committed to your learning by providing a training and assessment framework that ensures the knowledge gained through training is translated into practical on the job improvements.

You are going to be assessed for:

  • Your skills and knowledge using written and observation activities that apply to the workplace.
  • Your ability to apply your learning.
  • Your ability to recognise common principles and actively use these on the job.

All of your assessment and training is provided as a positive learning tool. Your assessor will guide your learning and provide feedback on your responses to the assessment materials until you have been deemed competent in this unit.

1.1        HOW YOU WILL BE ASSESSED

The process we follow is known as competency-based assessment. This means that evidence of your current skills and knowledge will be measured against national standards of best practice, not against the learning you have undertaken either recently or in the past. Some of the assessment will be concerned with how you apply your skills and knowledge in the workplace, and some in the training room as required by each unit.

The assessment tasks have been designed to enable you to demonstrate the required skills and knowledge and produce the critical evidence to successfully demonstrate competency at the required standard.

Your assessor will ensure that you are ready for assessment and will explain the assessment process.  Your assessment tasks will outline the evidence to be collected and how it will be collected, for example; a written activity, case study, or demonstration and observation.

The assessor will also have determined if you have any special needs to be considered during assessment. Changes can be made to the way assessment is undertaken to account for special needs and this is called making Reasonable Adjustment.

What happens if your result is ‘Not Yet Competent’ for one or more assessment tasks?

Our assessment process is designed to answer the question “has the desired learning outcome been achieved yet?” If the answer is “Not yet”, then we work with you to see how we can get there.

In the case that one or more of your assessments has been marked ‘NYC’, your trainer will provide you with the necessary feedback and guidance, in order for you to resubmit your responses.

What if you disagree on the assessment outcome?

You can appeal against a decision made in regards to your assessment.   An appeal should only be made if you have been assessed as ‘Not Yet Competent’ against a specific unit and you feel you have sufficient grounds to believe that you are entitled to be assessed as competent. You must be able to adequately demonstrate that you have the skills and experience to be able to meet the requirements of units you are appealing the assessment of.

Your trainer will outline the appeals process, which is available to the student. You can request a form to make an appeal and submit it to your trainer, the course coordinator, or the administration officer. The RTO will examine the appeal and you will be advised of the outcome within 14 days. Any additional information you wish to provide may be attached to the appeal form.

What if I believe I am already competent before training?

If you believe you already have the knowledge and skills to be able to demonstrate competence in this unit, speak with your trainer, as you may be able to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

Assessor Responsibilities

Assessors need to be aware of their responsibilities and carry them out appropriately.  To do this they need to:

  • Ensure that participants are assessed fairly based on the outcome of the language, literacy and numeracy review completed at enrolment.
  • Ensure that all documentation is signed by the student, trainer, workplace supervisor and assessor when units and certificates are complete, to ensure that there is no follow-up required from an administration perspective.
  • Ensure that their own qualifications are current.
  • When required, request the manager or supervisor to determine that the student is ‘satisfactorily’ demonstrating the requirements for each unit. ‘Satisfactorily’ means consistently meeting the standard expected from an experienced operator.
  • When required, ensure supervisors and students sign off on third party assessment forms or third party report.
  • Follow the recommendations from moderation and validation meetings.

How should I format my assessments?

Your assessments should be typed in a 11 or 12 size font for ease of reading. You must include a footer on each page with the student name, unit code and date. Your assessment needs to be submitted as a hardcopy or electronic copy as requested by your trainer.

How long should my answers be?

The length of your answers will be guided by the description in each assessment, for example:

Type of Answer Answer Guidelines
Short Answer 4 typed lines = 50 words, or

5 lines of handwritten text

Long Answer 8 typed lines = 100 words, or

10 lines of handwritten text =   of a foolscap page

Brief Report 500 words = 1 page typed report, or

50 lines of handwritten text = 1 foolscap handwritten pages

Mid Report 1,000 words = 2 page typed report

100 lines of handwritten text = 3 foolscap handwritten pages

Long Report 2,000 words = 4 page typed report

200 lines of handwritten text = 6 foolscap handwritten pages

How should I reference the sources of information I use in my assessments?

Include a reference list at the end of your work on a separate page. You should reference the sources you have used in your assessments in the Harvard Style. For example:

Website Name – Page or Document Name, Retrieved insert the date. Webpage link.

For a book: Author surname, author initial Year of publication, Title of book, Publisher, City, State

The following table shows you how to achieve a satisfactory result against the criteria for each type of assessment task. 1.2. Explain each conflict resolution and issue management technique, its advantages and disadvantages using 100-200 words.

1.3. Discuss how you can manage and handle potential changes to the solution scope as a result of conflict resolution and issue management strategies using 150-300 words.

Satisfactory response
Yes

No

1.1        the five conflict resolution techniques of issues management are smoothing and accommodations, forcing, collaborating and problem-solving and, confronting and compromising, withdrawing or avoiding conflict resolution techniques are when two or more stakeholders, if we don’t solve the conflict team member, will lose the trust. (Heldman, 2018).

1.2        Conflict resolution is an essential aspect of running a business. The advantage of collaborating is it helps to make all parties involved in the ongoing disputes feel understood and valued. It can help to foster empathy and understanding and mutual respect. It helps to set the tone for future conflict resolutions. And the disadvantages are it contains lots of time and effort. and energy to resolution and if we do not solve the conflict the team member loses their trust and there is low team morale and a negative impact of the project manager’s authority. There is an increasing number of personal clashes and low productivity and also there is a low quality of work. Collaborating means compromising conflict resolution is an important function for the running the business it helps to make all the parties which is involved in the feel values disputes. It helps to foster the understanding mutual respect and the sympathy. And the disadvantage is it take a lot of time, effort and energy and to achieve the resolution. There is many problems arising in the win win situation. It may not be the solution which provide the victory for all the involved parties.

1.3

It can be handled by avoiding conflict, by making the accommodation, compromising and timing the conflict and through handling it one time in an effective way. I have to manage all the things and solve it. We have to analyse the conflict and model language-neutral, the motivate and understanding employees to do work together and also agree on them to disagree. They agree to talk and help to establish the ground rules for the discussion and we have to take turns in exploring the options to solve the conflicts and agree for the solutions. Detach from the business and they have to listen actively and practice empathy and know what to involve the HR. THEY HAVE to focus on effective communication and skills related to problem-solving with a role-play scenario. And they have to maintain the open communication. Also, provide the multiple avenues for the employees to report the problems and also resolve them on their own.

it is a document that is typically made alongside the primary project plan which is as a piece of the management process. By defining the project scope, defining the approach to the requirements management, and by identifying the stakeholders and prioritizing the requirements, and selecting who will be a responsible requirement to manage the effort. The purpose of the requirement is to make sure for the product development and goals which are successfully met. It is a set technique for documenting and prioritizing, analysing and agreeing on requirements so that the team which is the engineering team always have approved and current requirements. The management process must be involved in all the requirements and requirement development and planning and verifications and the change management. Planning development, and system verifications and system validation and development.

2.2

The critical factor to success is the stakeholder requirement there are seven factors for requirement planning which are clearly articulated benefits, collaborations, process scope, clear communication and asking the right questions the critical factors is something for an organization or the business or project which must be completed in a way to fulfil their goal and also helps an organisation to decide to where they should focus and compare the progress to the set goals. there is a proper planning and do the best practices and there is monitoring and control process in an effective way. By using the professional software and also there is an effective communication and working with the people who are committed we have to follow the sound strategy to set the right priorities and hire a good committed staff and also should have a self-strong discipline(Ciccio, et al., 2018).

23

Traceability is the ability to trace all the processes which are from the procurement of the raw materials to consumptions, productions, and disposal to clarity. About when the product was produced by whom. We can develop the or improve food product traceability by collaborating with the suppliers, implementing the tracking system and the software, integrating the traceability with the current technology and creating and making the alerts system and by communicating with the customers. we can manage traceability by creating the better transparency for the stakeholders and the principal contributors.  By conducting regular audits and the compliance and regulations regarding the audits. And automate the traceability for the bi-directional requirement. By following this way we have to maintain the trackability.

Q3: Answer the following questions regarding the list and apply techniques for managing version control and configuration.

No

3.1

Version control is the control that controls the deliverables and configuration are helps to manage and manage the overall process which is leading the product to the deliverables. Configuration management involves the change management to the project management which is generally not managed by the simple control version. A simple control vision is a right way to manage the document changes and the developers to make the software code. The version control system is also known as a source control management. It refers the assigning a unique version whenever the number of versions are improved, customized and upgraded. Versions numbers are assigned typically in the increasing order of corresponding to the configuration changes. The purpose of the version control is to allow the software teams to track the changes to the code with enhancing communication and the team collaboration which is between the team members. Control and facilitates the continuous, and simple way to develop the software. It helps to manage the sources the code for the software team. Version control is the control that controls the deliverables and configuration are helps to manage and manage the overall process which is leading the product to the deliverables. Configuration management involves the change management to the project management which is generally not managed by the simple control version. In an effective way.

3.2

There are eight critical control version best practices which are committed to the changes atomically, without breaking the builds, following the best branching practices, and ensuring about everything commits is traceable and taking reviews prior to the share committing repository. Write the good commit messages the fundamental techniques commit the changes automatically also write the good commit messages and do not break the builds and also ensure that every commit is traceable and fo9llows the branching and the best practices the configuration management of the version control which describes the technical and administrative and to control the deliverable components as well as tracking the nature and status of the multiple versions. Version control is the control which deliverables where the configuration and management on managing the overall and entire process to leading to produces the deliverables and also management configuration which involves the management changes and project management it is a control of the deliverables wheras the configuration management are managing the entire process which leading the deliverables(Zhou, et al., 2016).

Assessment Task 2: Project

This assessment task requires you to work effectively to demonstrate your skills and knowledge required to manage and communicate requirements for new information and communications technology (ICT) systems to a broad and diverse audience.

In this assessment task, you will be required to read and understand the below-mentioned scenario and complete the following activities.

This assessment task requires you to work effectively as part of project-based teams for an information technology department. You are required to read and understand a predetermined issue and/or situation and participate in a number of assessment activities. You need to complete the following activities:

  • Activity 1: Managing identified client ICT requirements and solution scope
  • Activity 2: Managing requirement relationships and dependencies and maintaining requirements for re-use
  • Activity 3: Prepare requirements package

This assessment task will be completed at your workplace, online or in a simulated workplace environment prepared by your training organisation.

The student is required to read and understand a predetermined issue and/or situation and participate in the following assessment activities.

The predetermined issue and/or situation

You have started working in the ICT department of your organisation.

You are having a number of issues with your current infrastructure and ICT environment, especially when one server fails and a number of people lose access to the applications installed on the server. Other problems are explained in the text below.

Your organisation is currently using virtual machines (VMs) to run software applications on top of the physical servers to emulate a particular hardware system. Hypervisor or a virtual machine monitor, can be a software, firmware or hardware that is used to create and run virtual machines. Each virtual machine has its own guest operating system. VMs of different operating systems can coexist on the same physical server—for example, a UNIX VM can coexist with a Linux VM. Each VM has its own binaries, libraries, and applications, and the VM can be several gigabytes in size. Each VM has its own operating system image, that contributes to the memory and storage footprint. As it turned out, this problem complicates every stage of the software development lifecycle, from development to testing to production and disaster recovery. This strategy also severely restricts device portability between public clouds, private clouds, and conventional data centres.

You and your team have been researching the solutions and identified that containers can be a perfect way to overcome the current challenges your organisation is facing.

Containers run on top of a physical server and its host operating system, such as Linux or Windows. Each container shares the host OS kernel as well as, in most cases, binaries and libraries. Components that are shared are read-only. Containers are therefore extremely “light”—they are just a few megabytes in size and start up in seconds, as opposed to gigabytes and minutes for a VM.

Containers also help to minimise management costs. Since they share the same operating system, only one operating system needs attention and feeding for bug fixes, updates, and so on. This definition is close to that of hypervisor hosts: fewer management points but a significantly larger fault domain. In short, containers are smaller and more compact than virtual machines.

Virtual machines and containers differ in many ways, but the primary distinction is that containers enable the virtualisation of an operating system, allowing multiple workloads to run on a single OS instance. The hardware is virtualized with VMs in order to run several OS instances. Containers, with their speed, agility, and portability, are yet another tool that can help streamline software development.

Container orchestration is the process of automating most of the organisational work needed to operate containerised workloads and services. This involves a wide range of tasks required by software teams to handle the lifecycle of a container, such as provisioning, deployment, scaling (up and down), networking, load balancing, and more.

Other requirements to complete this assessment task:

  • the internet, including connectivity
  • required hardware, software and applications
  • a simulated or workplace project in a medium-to-large enterprise

Template: Understanding your job role and responsibilities

Explain the purpose of forming the team (20-40 words)
The purpose of team forming is to create teams it helps to provide the framework which helps to increase the participation of the employees in the planning, decision making, and problem-solving and serve the customer in an effective way. It helps create an understanding environment. A team is an special kind of group which helps to creates an synergy and where the sum  is greater  than the parts and also it helps to developing the team working skill which is very important for the excellent patient care and the meeting MD program and about their objectives teams are used for the variety of the purposes and also team is an smaller than the groups which is empowered to act and the members who are accountable and interdependent. A team is an special kind of groups which is in peoples work s interdependently to completes a common and desire goal  which is needed to coordinated the interactions to complete the specific tasks.
What is your role and how is it different from others? (50-100 words)
My role is really different from the others I am the team leader so ii have to manage everything I try my best to reduce the issues and generate profits it is my duty to teach the employees about the impact of issues and motivate them from time to time. and manager the conflicts if any.
Team members and stakeholders (supervisor) you consulted and questions you asked relevant to the assessment criteria (50-100 words)
The question I asked to them is like

What are the impacts of the issues on productivity and profit?

What is the budget?

What is the timing in which the project should complete?

What factors may be arising after the changes in the organisation?

How did you comply with time frames and team requirements? (50-100 words)
I have to comply with the time frame by setting the goals and by doing effective planning which is measurable, realistic, timely, and specific and should be attainable. Set the goals to prioritize it set the best time and make breakdown task and organise everything. Setting the one deadline is very important for the task and deadline or the time framing for the task is helps us to comply the work on given or provided time it also helps I’m managing the workloads in an effective way and also help the in growth and boost of the productivity of the good and services of the organisation. And to done this I have to first figure out about how to spend the time currently and I have to create a daily schedule with the stick way and give the prioritize according to the importance of the work in an effective way, that I have to similar the groups and task together and I have to avoid the urge about the multitasking, and I have to build in the buffers and learn to say no.
How have you planned and prioritised your own tasks? (50-100 words)
For this I have to make the too- do list then review it regularly and concentrate the most crucial, then set the realistic deadlines and allows interruptions time then structure the workload and do not let the inbox drive in the workload then keep a log of the work. About making the to-do list, rank the to-do list then post it and notice about the responsibility and then we have to avoid the unnecessary taks and then we have to set the realistic deadlines and set it in a break time and distractions should be put away.
