Topic 1
Task 1: Plan and gather information
Address each of the following criteria for the first topic. Each answer should be approximately 100 words. Ensure at least one of the information sources should be one you have found and is in addition to the list provided.
- Introduce the topic you have chosen and identify how researching the literature in this area may support and improve your work practices.
The World Health Organization (WHO) explains social determinants as “the non-medical” aspects that implicate outcomes of health. They are the situations in which individuals age, live, work, grow and are born, and the broader set of all systems and forces shaping all conditions of normal life. These systems and forces include systems of politics, communal policies, agendas of development and systems and policies of the economy. Social determinants mainly create part of broader health determinants which involve digital, commercial, biomedical, cultural, economic, structural and environmental factors in our daily lives. ‘Social determinants of health have quickly become the vital concept in the health of the public that leads to the development of innovative theoretical frameworks and models (Laudon, 2015).
- Provide a clear statement defining the research objectives of your literature review.
The statements that mainly define the objective of research of the literature review are given below:
- This research was mainly held for identifying how the population handles different living conditions in their daily life.
- The research also helps in determining and identifying the conditions and situations in which populations of particular state age, work, grow and are born.
- Describe the methods you used to systematically gather information for your literature review and provide a rationale for why these were appropriate.
The methods that are utilized to systematically collect information are given below:
- Literature sources – This mainly involves gathering data from the text that published already in the domain of the public. It includes magazines, articles, newspapers and reports of government or private organizations. These literature sources help in giving the overview of present knowledge and also permit identifying relevant gaps, methods and theories in the research of social determinants of health.
- Surveys – It is another method that is considered to gather relevant information for the literature review. In this method, information is collected via a questionnaire, frequently based on the experiences of groups and individuals regarding social determinants of health. These are appropriate as they assist in estimating the representativeness of experiences and views of the individual. These also give hard figures on behaviours and opinions of people that could be utilized for making informed decisions.
- Observations – It is another method of gathering information that is utilized by mainly observing and monitoring individuals in a particular environment or situation. This method helps the searcher in getting more data regarding the topic of research (Laudon, 2015).
- Describe at least three credible sources of data and information you accessed for your literature review- of which is one is a resource you have found.
Three credible sources of information and data that we have accessed for the literature review are given below:
- Local data of health – This particular source gives relevant information regarding the sector of health that shows the situation that all the individuals are suffering from. Different conventions and norms will assist the local department of health in understanding the problems of determinants of health. The efficiency of the sector of health care will then meets and improve the standards of health.
- Indicators of enduring illness – This particular source give the relevant information or data related to the geographical surroundings of the illness that is enduring. This situation is regarding factors of hazards and predominant.
- Susceptibility to the system of healthcare – Through these credible sources of information, the researcher mainly gets all data regarding the kinds of functional illnesses like hearing, mobility, free-living, vision, self-care and cognitive. This particular information assists the researcher in knowing mainly about the variance in health with or without illness (Gray, 2019).
- Explain how you determined whether the information you gathered was relevant to your chosen topic and research objectives.
To accurately recognize whether the particular data and information that I have gathered is appropriate or not, systems of healthcare will be monitored for comparing the data and information. According to the data and information of research, individuals are ill and sick because of poor services and facilities offered by the system and departments of healthcare in their surroundings (Gray, 2019).
- Describe how you organised the data and information you gathered in a way that helped you to use it in your literature review.
To accurately maintain and consolidate the record-keeping of relevant data and information, the information which is collected will be monitored and recorded in the excel spreadsheet with the assistance of online and computer sources. In this particular manner, it will be easy to recognize the data and information mainly which is required to be added to the literature review. Then the information of adolescents and adults will be identified regarding determinants of health (Adorno, 2019).
- Describe how you prioritised which sources of data and information to discuss in your literature review.
To mainly prioritize data and information, the entire data and information will be accurately arranged in the form of a table and then ratings and markings will be provided. Then as per the ratings and markings, data will be included in the particular literature review topic. For instance, a higher rating will be given to the data and information regarding the enduring illness and a low rating will be given to the data and information regarding the susceptibility to the system of healthcare (Adorno, 2019).
Task 2: Analyse and present findings
Use the following headings to write a literature review that analyses three or more credible sources of information, and assesses how the findings might be applied in your professional context. Each answer should be approximately 100 words. In your literature review you must address each of the criteria.
- Identify at least two current trends in this topic area and evaluate their relevance to your area of professional practice.
Two current trends in the social determinants of health are given below:
- Cloud computing – By offering on-demand storage of healthcare, cloud computing in the area of healthcare reduces operational and capital expenditures. It maximizes the effectiveness of the company when cutting various costs. Cloud computing mainly makes it very simple in sharing records of medical, systematize backend operations and also maintain and create apps for telehealth (Enright, 2015).
- Implications of artificial intelligence – Healthcare is suggestively implicated by the revolt mainly got by the technology of artificial intelligence. No doubt is there that artificial intelligence will mainly rule upcoming trends in the sector of healthcare as it has enhanced the accuracy of diagnostic via mechanized support in the medical operation, numerical imaging, workforce etc.
- Compare and contrast the different sources of literature that you have accessed and comment on their merits in terms of their:
- Strength (the robustness of the studies) – With the assistance of social determinants of health, the individual could associate the local data on health and indicators of enduring illness. The local information on health and indicators of enduring illness gives access to identifying the particular area that is required to be enhanced for providing a better life to the population.
- Relevance to your professional context – Entire sources of literature are well-treated till they give appropriate and practical data. In the process of research, the literature source mainly assists as they give relevant and accurate data according to the topic of research.
- (Statistical) reliability – Local data on health is accurate till it gives appropriate information and data regarding the sufferings of the population related to health. However, the local data regarding health does not give accurate information and data related to the individual that presently going from some serious and enduring illness.
- Assess and discuss the feasibility of incorporating the findings of the research into your professional context, and any benefits or risk associated with this.
It includes the following points:
- Authorized feasibility – This kind of source gives information and data regarding authorized responsibilities that mainly local departments and sectors of health care require completing for setting up the departments and sectors effectively to offer better facilities and services to the population.
- Feasibility related to technology – This particular source gives information and data regarding technological aspects in the sector of healthcare that the local departments of health care are required to give better services and facilities of health care to the individuals who are suffering from some serious illness (Enright, 2015).
- Identify areas of the research that warrant further investigation, either because of the limited scope of the research you have undertaken, or the limitations of the studies cited.
The critical area that must be inspected from time to time is mainly determinants of infection and illness in adolescents. So, the researcher mainly needs to find actual causes for the infections in adolescents.
Another critical area that must be investigated is viral infections that are nowadays spreading among adults.
- Provide a summary of your findings and conclusions based on the literature that you have reviewed.
As per the information of research, various causes are there for infection in adolescents and also in adult individuals like lack of resources, lack of literacy, improper services and facilities of health, lack of financial resources etc.
Various appliances that can help the individual that is impacted should be implemented by preventing them from various enduring illnesses and infections. For this, people should be given knowledge related to diseases and how these diseases can affect them and also treatment knowledge should be also given (Patten, 2017).
- Outline ways in which the information may be used, and recommend two actions based on your research findings and conclusions. These may be concerning further research or implementing the findings of the research, or both.
It has been recommended that computerized technology should be executed to help individuals in recovering from enduring diseases in some poor sectors where better healthcare services and facilities are not available.
It is also recommended that better education and knowledge should be given to the individual regarding services of health care. In this particular manner, they can easily identify which kind of treatment they need to recover from the particular disease and infection.
- Outline how you will use the information and learnings from your research to make changes in your current work practices
The information will be used for making plans and strategies that will help in making effective changes in the present practices of work and these will also give positive outcomes (Patten, 2017).
Task 3: Referencing
Include a reference list using the APA style of referencing.

Topic 2
Task 1: Plan and gather information
Address each of the following criteria for the first topic. Each answer should be approximately 100 words. Ensure at least one of the information sources should be one you have found and is in addition to the list provided.
- Introduce the topic you have chosen and identify how researching the literature in this area may support and improve your work practices.
Patient-centred care is mainly understood in various ways and manners, around the range of settings related to health care, from speciality care providers to family care, to long-duration, emergency and acute providers of care. In patient-centred care, the particular health requirements and preferred outcomes of the health of the individual are the moving force mainly behind the entire decisions related to health care and also measurements of quality. Patients are mainly partners with providers of health care and these providers treat their patients not just only from the perspective of the clinic but also the financial, social, spiritual, mental and emotional perspectives (Paparella, 2016).
- Provide a clear statement defining the research objectives of your literature review.
Various modern scholars think mainly that health care is only the mixture of technology and science which is implemented by specialists in the field of nursing. The objective of the research is to mainly alter this kind of thinking of the modern scholars and also staff f nursing so they can treat all patients fairly and give them proper services and facilities so that the patients are fully recovered from the particular disease. The staff of nursing should make good relations with their patients and behave well with them and should also give them emotional assistance. This can help the patient to recover better (Paparella, 2016).
- Describe the methods you used to systematically gather information for your literature review and provide a rationale for why these were appropriate.
The different methods that are utilized for gathering information include that firstly investigation will be done appropriately of the literature review regarding relations between staff of nursing and patient. Then appraisal will be done that refers that it should mention which data should be kept and which should be not. This assists in the research process being more efficient and data must be related to treatments and patients’ details. The combination of data and information could be very helpful in the process of research and also in the evaluation of data which assists in finishing the whole process of research and also assist in recommending effective ways of improvement.
- Describe at least three credible sources of data and information you accessed for your literature review- of which is one is a resource you have found.
Three credible sources are given below:
- Surveys of patients – It assists in collecting data from patients by mainly asking them about the services and facilities of treatment given to them.
- Medical data of patients – These kinds of records represent details of treatments and also costs and expenses.
- Executive data and information – This data mainly includes the kinds of services that are given to the patients, processes of diagnosis and the process codes for the facilities that are mainly given to the patients by the staff of nursing.
- Explain how you determined whether the information you gathered was relevant to your chosen topic and research objectives.
The information that will be collected from the particular methods and resources that must be accurate to the specific research could be resolute by the selection procedure by the system of evaluating the methods accurately. The data must comprise all services given by the staff of nursing and the behaviour towards the patients and much research that is mainly implemented on the particular topic of facilities in health care. These evaluations of data are the standards that should be there in the literature review (Meroni & Sangiorgi, 2016).
- Describe how you organised the data and information you gathered in a way that helped you to use it in your literature review.
The information and data that are collected from the research must be organized and structured accurately so that the findings of the research are effective and useful. The information and data that is gathered will be arranged in sequential order which mainly means that data of literature of the current literature must be as per the dates and time of publishing and another kind of data must be in accurate order so that no issues can arise regarding care and treatment of patients, then reasons of issues will be identified and then the solution will be identified that can be implemented to achieve effective outcomes (Meroni & Sangiorgi, 2016).
- Describe how you prioritised which sources of data and information to discuss in your literature review.
The sources of information and data will be prioritized mainly based on the efficiency and effectiveness of data and information. This mainly describes that literature reviews that are mainly present in person-centred care are considered as an initial priority so that accurate notions are there by which it is clear that what could be changed in the particular review and after that through surveys of patients data will be gathered which mainly assist in identifying the issues and the executive strategies to give social and emotional assistance to the patients (Rashad, et al., 2020).
Task 2: Analyse and present findings
Use the following headings to write a literature review that analyses three or more credible sources of information, and assesses how the findings might be applied in your professional context. Each answer should be approximately 100 words. In your literature review, you must address each of the criteria.
- Identify at least two current trends in this topic area and evaluate their relevance to your area of professional practice.
The two present trends that are mainly relevant to patient-centred care are strategies of communication. By using these strategies nursing staff support the patients and also understand their problems and issues of patients and also give them emotional assistance. Another trend is social care as this mainly assists the health determinants to provide social assistance to the patient by whom patients do not panic in taking treatments and also help them in recovering from the diseases efficiently.
- Compare and contrast the different sources of literature that you have accessed and comment on their merits in terms of their:
- strength (the robustness of the studies)
- relevance to your professional context
- (statistical) reliability
- currency of the information.
The executive data and information mainly vigorous the studies of research by giving enhanced systems of coding of the treatment methods given to the patients which are significant to the framework of nursing staff’s behaviour towards all patients. The medical data of patients gives accurate information that assists in identifying the analysis of data in the framework of reliability. The surveys of patients give relevant information regarding patient satisfaction with the treatment and facilities of health care (Rashad, et al., 2020).
- Assess and discuss the feasibility of incorporating the findings of the research into your professional context, and any benefits or risks associated with this.
The research must be relevant and principled so that this can be utilized in further procedures. The research must provide a preview of social perspectives and also current trends prevailing in the sector and department of health. The risk that is mainly allied is financial issues that can arise as the technological requirements are increasing day-by-day that are high in cost and due to these financial losses can be suffered by the departments of health care.
- Identify areas of the research that warrant further investigation, either because of the limited scope of the research you have undertaken, or the limitations of the studies cited.
The various studies recommend that distinct ideas for the knowledge and studies should be investigated so that particular literature reviews from the previous data should also be investigated to identify whether they are accurate to use or not. The main investigation is mainly from the hospital’s executive data as many times improper data is given by the hospitals and these should be properly investigated.
- Provide a summary of your findings and conclusions based on the literature that you have reviewed.
The literature review mainly suggests that patients are not given proper facilities and services in the sectors and departments of health care and that is why patients are not satisfied with the services and facilities offered by them.
- Outline ways in which the information may be used, and recommend two actions based on your research findings and conclusions. These may be concerning further research, implementing the findings of the research, or both.
The research mainly recommends that accurate methods should be utilized to build effective relations with all patients and these relations are also essential between nursing staff and patients. Also, nursing staff should provide emotional and social assistance to the patients so that they can feel comfortable and better and recovers effectively (Moran & Carroll, 2020).
- Outline how you will use the information and learnings from your research to make changes in your current work practices
The information that will mainly be given in the particular research is the training of communication skills that should be used while communicating with the patients and another one is thinking of staff of nursing towards the patients. This particular research mainly helps in identifying the behaviour of nursing staff towards patients (Moran & Carroll, 2020).
